KS4 Debating Club

Last Thursday, the Year KS4 Debating Club went to Whitgift School to take part in a Public Speaking Competition. Through-out the competition some very topical motions were brought up including “In the Battle of the Sexes Men will always Win” and “Voting Should be Made Compulsory”. Although we lost to Whitgift School and thus were unable to continue into the national final, I think that Jonathon Willougby, Tom Bryant and myself gave it our best shot and found the experience very rewarding. Thanks to everyone in the club who helped us with the preparation in the run-up to the competition, and if anyone else is interested in public speaking/debating feel free to come along to the Debating Club in L block on Wednesday lunchtime. Also thanks to Miss Brown and Miss Richards for their support.
