Swine Flu

Please note that as Swine Flu has become very widespread (although no cases yet at Hayes) the health authority guide is:a) Continue to use good hygiene practice especially washing your hands with soap and water. We are regularly checking that soap isavailable in all the toilets. Also use tissues to cover your mouth if you cough or sneeze and bin tissues as soon as possible.b) Do not come to school if you have a fever and flu like symptoms. Contact NHS direct or your local surgery (do not go there).c) Schools are to remain open as there is no evidence that closing them would reduce the spread as it is circulating in the widercommunity. The main evidence is that Swine Flu is not very different from other types of flu and is generally mild except in a minority of cases. We will keep parents and students informed if we have any confirmed cases of Swine Flu or the advice changes.
