Hayes School Handball team qualifies for South East England

Last Wednesday 11 Year 10 students travelled to Maidstone GrammarSchool to play in the first qualifying round of the National HandballChampionships. The team have played friendly matches before, but thiswas the first time that they had played in a championship such as this. TheChief Executive of the British Handball Association was present along withother Handball coaches from around the country.The team performed fantastically in front of a very loud home crowd andbeat Maidstone Grammar School 8-1. This means they have now qualifiedfor the South East finals which will be held at a purpose built HandballArena in Leyton. After the match the team were given some expertcoaching from the coaches who were there. We were told that the teamshowed immense potential and they were impressed at how the Hayesteam played and conducted themselves.Congratulations to all the students in the squad.We now start training for the Finals!
