Media Update
January saw the Media team return to Archbishop Tenison School in Croydon to provide part of their whole school enrichment day. The Year 8 students were to spend the day doing various tasks in the film making process; writing scripts, drawing storyboards, filming and editing. Hayes Media team, Mr Cooper, Mr Hilder and Mrs Farrow, helped with the filming. Students were put into small groups to film a western shootout. They each had a chance, in front of and behind the camera, to act out the mounting tension, final draw and ultimate demise in a shootout. Despite freezing conditions there was some excellent acting as students threw themselves to the ground to act out their final moments. By the end of the lesson students knew how to frame shots, use different camera angles and learned about continuity. They thoroughly enjoyed the day and can’t wait to do it again.
